Teacher, writer and lawyer
In his youth, the talented writer and lawyer taught the children of a well-known noble family.
Tomo was a famous writer from Varaždin. He wrote patriotic and satirical poems in Latin, German and Croatian.
The first poem Domorodac published in the journal Matice hrvatska "Danica ilirska" in 1835. His brother Antun Nemčić (1813 – 1849) collected his poems posthumously and published "Political Poems of the Late Tom Blažek" (1848). Tom's poems were also included in the "Illyrian Anthology" (1939).
Tomo was so talented that in his youth he worked as a private tutor for one of the most famous Croatian-Hungarian aristocratic families, the Erdődy family. Namely, Tomo taught the children of Karl Erdődy. He later achieved success working as a lawyer in Zagreb and Varaždin.
The news of his untimely death was published in "Novinima Crovatsko-Slavonsko-Dalmatinskima". Tom was described as an honest and just man and a self-effacing, sincere and fiery native. He was buried at the cemetery in Varaždin.
