Dating the birth of Josip Sulimanović is Russian roulette.

According to some documents, it is considered that the craftsman was born on October 23, 1866, while others emphasize December 30, 1857 as a reliable year.
 
Young Josip was the son of shoemaker Josip, who is named after his mother Ana Grcic.
Josip was taught his craft by Ludvig Zajček, a well-known doctor from Đurđevac.
Very diligent, forward-looking and courageous, Josip was employed as a sales assistant to the physician Ujlaki in Koprivnica at the end of the 19th century. Having justified his status as a good craftsman - but also a good man, Josip marries Ujlaki's daughter Teresija and soon after takes over Ujlaki's job completely.

Josip later became a member of the branch of the Association of Croatian Craftsmen and the father of two sons, one of whom also studied to become a medic, following his father's example.

Being responsible for the existence of the Koprivnica trade, Josip Sulimanović is mentioned in the registry books of the Đurđeva parish as a "physician in Koprivnica".

The craftsman and medicine family Ujlaki merged with Josip Sulimanović as soon as Josip married Ujlaki's daughter Terezija.
The family lived in one of the oldest streets at number 13 until the end of the Second World War when the house was bombed and the craftsman family moved to number 11.

The Ujlaki-Sulimanović trade, synonymous with art, produced hand bells that are still preserved in the Museum of the City of Koprivnica as an artefact of this tradition.

The hand bell is in original condition, made of a combination of iron and wood and has a pleasant tone thanks to the brass ball inside the bell. Made at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century, this art object stands as a representation of the living atmosphere of a bourgeois family in that period and the lifestyle of the Koprivnica elite.
