Once on Krk, always on Krk!
Ivan Milčetić was born in the village of Milčetići near Dubašnica on the island of Krk. That is how his family came from that village. How his professional and private life took him in a different direction. Ivan went from the sea, the island, to the coast, to be more precise, to Varaždin. After that departure, Ivan never returned to live on Krk for the rest of his life.
However, Ivan's fellow villagers decided to change that. Croatian sculptor Ratko Petrić made a bust of Ivan Milčetić. The bust is located in front of the House of Dubašljanska Heritage on the island of Krk. And the monument is a gift of the Varaždin Branch of Matica Hrvatska to the Municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica.
So Ivan, after all, returned to Krk to his native Dubašnica.
