A letter to a friend

– At the same time, Kemo left the tavern, a grenade fell and killed him. If the waiter hadn't brought the beer, I would have walked out and probably died. –

For Nacional, Kemo recalled the story of how the acclaimed song "Letter to a friend", the unofficial anthem of Sarajevo during the war, was created.

Paragraph image 1913

He said that Zlaja Arslanagić and Zlatan Fazlić wrote this, initially a love song. During the war, they added the chorus under which the song became known: "Da ti roknu samlo two".

About the origin of the chorus, he told how, during the war, the people of Sarajevo were asked, 'What's wrong with you?' answered: - I don't know how to explain to you, if two bombs fell in your yard, then you would understand me. – The authors put it in the song and recorded it in 1992.

Kemo recalled how the filming was a real pain. They drove him in an armored van, took him to the television and there he sang. The well-known video was shot in the popular cafe Fis. Davorin Popović, Mirza Delibašić, Abdulah Sidran, the camera crew Kemal and others sat on the stairs of Fis cafe and sang there. He told how just one day later, after the video was broadcast, a grenade fell on those stairs and killed his namesake, Kema.

"I remember that time I was in Fis with Goran Milić, and since there was no water, we all peed outside the bar instead of in the toilet. I wanted to go outside to pee, but the bar owner treated Milić and me to two beers. I told him: - In order not to go piss for nothing, I'll drink a beer first. – At the same time, Kemo left the tavern, a grenade fell and killed him. If the waiter hadn't brought beer, I would have gone out and probably died."
