The life path of Ivan Ica Borić
Ivan Borić was born on February 4, 1960, as the second of three children of mother Dragica and father Mata. Everyone affectionately called him Ica.
After completing his military service, the Port of Vukovar became his first workplace, where he worked until the beginning of the war in Vukovar. In 1989, Ivan married Ivka, née Karimović. However, the events of the war separated two young people who were at the beginning of their married life. While he sent his Ivka away from the war, Ivan decided to stay and defend his homeland. After the fall of the city of Vukovar, Ivan was taken to the Staićevo camp (Serbia). In 1999, Ivan returned to Vukovar with his wife Ivka.
Ica was a lover of motorcycles, whenever he was having a hard time, when he had nightmares in his head, he would sit on his motorcycle and then all his nightmares would disappear. Those who knew Ica will say that there was never a dull moment with him and that he was always up for a joke. And above all, he was a good friend, one could always rely on him, he left all his jobs to help his friends and family.
After a short and serious illness, on May 14, 2016, Ivan's life ended forever. His memory will always be cherished. We cannot end this story without his ever-famous sentence: "Everyone thinks it's easy for me."
