Mara Strahinić

Jul 5, 1906 - Mar 23, 1993(87)

in every evil there is some good

life constantly writes unexpected stories, and for Mara this was one of the most unexpected - in fear and misery she found light

Mara's mother was a single mother and due to a difficult life situation she was forced to go to America. Every now and then she sent money to Mara and her older sister so that they would have something to live on, and after a few years everything was ready for Mara to move to America. But at that time, the beginning of the First World War was heating up and at the station next to the train she was told that travel was no longer possible due to the state of war in the world. She had to postpone her departure to America, and the years passed one after another without any progress. At that time, girls of her age were already ready for marriage. She had a lot of suitors, but she didn't like any of them and she turned them all down. Until one day a tall blonde boy entered the house, whom she immediately fell in love with. Although he was from a poor family, younger than her, and no one thought that he would be the one, Mara saw in him her future husband. And she was not wrong, they always loved, respected and mutually pushed each other forward.
