He didn't wait long to turn his passion and knowledge from college into practice, which later turned out to be quite a successful practice.
Marijan Hanžeković was born in Zagreb in 1952, and was named after his father. Marijan graduated from the Classical High School in 1970, and in 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb. As early as 1978, he opened a law office in Zagreb and handled quite demanding cases at that time. In 1994, together with his friend Marijan Radaković, he opened a law office. They found the law firm Hanžeković, Radaković & partners, which later became Hanžeković & partners. Until Marijan's death, it remained the largest law firm in Croatia with around two hundred employees.
In addition to his successful career as a lawyer, Marijan was also a great athlete. He played basketball so often. It was one of his favorite sports, and he became the president of the Zagreb Basketball Club and the Croatian Basketball Association. He was the president of the Zagreb Aviation Association and the Croatian Sailing Association.
Marijan died in 2018 in Zagreb from pancreatic cancer just 10 days after his 66th birthday.
