Matija Josić

Jan 27, 1995 - May 31, 2015(20)

High school antics of a precocious boy

Boys always love jokes and mischief, but Matija grew up too early, and his joke was not funny twice...

Matija was a boy with a good heart, he fought internal battles with himself and was dissatisfied with the way people treated him. This, among other things, caused this story, but also his premature departure... That day, Matija was walking in the Maksimir Forest in the company of his best friend at the time. With beautiful greenery and the occasional chirping of birds, he came up with an unusual idea - to make a fake obituary for him and decorate the neighborhood! His friend found the suggestion a little strange, but since both were quite young at the time, they decided on such a dog without thinking too much. With the help of a computer and a few clicks of the mouse, a friend created the required obituary for him, and Matija sneaked out of the house late at night to put one copy on each nearby pillar and in front of the school they attended. The next morning there was complete confusion. Matija's friend, coming to school, had something to see. The class and professors with question marks above their heads and teary eyes in disbelief asked each other if they knew anything more about this. All the questions and ambiguities at that moment were silenced by Matija coming in front of them. They looked at him as if he were a ghost. Some started laughing, some screamed, some remained restrained demanding an answer. In the end, it all went away with everyone being happy that it was just an unsalted joke. A few years later, his picture appeared again on the obituary around all the nearby pillars. This time no one fell for the "joke", but this time Matija wasn't joking either. It was too much for him to fight the battle with internal dissatisfaction and the people around him. He left too soon of his own free will, but he left us a memory of his kindness of heart and a lesson to always be considerate of each other and to pay attention to "unsavory jokes".
