After completing his specialization, he became the head of the surgical-gynecological department of the City Hospital in Rijeka. There, he researches the possibility of using iodine as a sterilizing agent in surgery. A scientific paper also writes about this, and the effectiveness of the method is proven by bacteriological tests. Grošić's method for preoperative sterilization was presented at the 16th international congress in Budapest in 1909 and was soon accepted worldwide.
