His fellow professors remember him as an excellent educator, full of ideas. He realized many of them. Namely, at that time, Siniša turned the school library in Borovo Naselje into a real multimedia center. That school bears his name today.

Siniša was married to Majda, with whom he had one son, Bojan. In pre-war times, he was employed by Croatian Radio Vukovar, first as an announcer. During the Homeland War, he was its editor and war reporter.

He loved to write. During the horrors of war, Siniša translated his suffering and pain for the wounded city into the most beautiful lines of Croatian war literature. His war reports spread the news about the Vukovar tragedy throughout Croatia and the world.

Siniša's last reports, created for Radio 101, are still especially remembered today. Namely, in them the reporter called out the authorities for leaving Vukovar and leaving the city to the enemies. Some doubt his authorship, while others claim that his recordings were banned on Croatian Radio for political reasons.

In memory of the hero of Croatian wartime journalism, since 2006, the city of Vukovar has been holding journalistic-literary meetings "The City - that's you", in honor of Siniša Glavašević, as part of the program for the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Vukovar in 1991.

Matica hrvatska collected his stories written in besieged Vukovar and published them under the title "Stories from Vukovar" in 1992. The collection has so far been published in several editions and translated into several languages.

Siniša was posthumously awarded the Order of Prince Domagoj for heroism and proven courage in the defense of the city of Vukovar in 1991.
