Leander Brozović – unconditional effort and work

A historian worth mentioning

Leander Brozović is a man who can certainly be counted among the great historians of veterinary medicine. Born in Budapest in 1897. Leander was considered one of the most deserving citizens of the city of Koprivnica who, with his unconditional work and effort, made his hometown a debt. Leander finished high school in Osijek in 1918 and decided to study at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Brno, Dresden and Lviv. As a lover of cultural heritage, in addition to veterinary medicine as his first love, Leander also collects various museum materials. In this way, he collects various ethnographic subjects, the entire oeuvre of folk songs and short stories, while at the same time he also handles folk medical terminology excellently thanks to his articles during his studies in which he dealt with topics such as keeping livestock healthy and defending against infectious diseases. This versatile historian left a great impression on the history of Koprivnica with such enthusiasm, and he is also considered the first historian who pointed out in detail the rebellion of the Kunovec peasants against the unpopular Hungarian regime. Speaking and writing only the best about his city, Leander Brozović truly deserves all the titles he has received and becomes a role model and pride for other citizens of Koprivnica.
