Dolores Lambaša

Mar 29, 1981 - Oct 23, 2013(33)

Croatian "femme fatale"

She loved acting, she loved the Dalmatian "spiza", and she also loved the sea...

The birth of the new century brought with it a real explosion of gossip columns, portals, and at the beginning there was also a new source of information - "Facebook". The rising young Šibenik actress Dolores Lambaša tried to create a career in such an atmosphere. Because of her exceptional beauty, charisma and eloquence, she became the target of the media. She was constantly exposed to the public, and her every move in life was covered on the covers of tabloid newspapers.

She was aware of her image and, although she wanted the public to love her, according to Silvana Međuša, the journalist and director who made a film about her, she once declared that she would again be "the main villain of this season".

She was born in a young family from Sibenik. After finishing elementary school, she had to deal with the divorce of her parents. The teachers remember her as a sensitive and intelligent student with a great acting talent that was also noticed at the "Lidrano" art fair. Then she performed one of the oldest Croatian poetic records, "The Šibenik Prayer", and won over the entire jury with her strong and emotional recitation.

In her hometown, she finished language high school and high school music, where she played piano and guitar. In Zagreb, she studied Croatology at the Croatian Studies, but she wanted to become an actress. She tried to enroll at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb three times, but she was always shortlisted, after which she received a rejection letter.

She finally graduated in acting at the Academy, but her career was unfairly overshadowed by scandals. The tabloids called her the Croatian "femme fatale" and the derogatory nickname "Doli". The public swallowed the gossip columns in which she got along with her older partners and their former families, while her acting accomplishments were not talked about. This also affected the number of engagements, which, due to various scandals, was not large. She played a more significant role in the theater play "Dom Bernarda Alba" and in the film "I believe in angels", and she was better known for her television roles in various soap operas.

She was a simple girl. She loved acting, she loved Dalmatian "spiza", and she also loved the sea, especially Split, where she wanted to live one day. Although she had a lot of potential for a domestic and international career, her tragic story ended with, fortunately for the media, another spectacular headline.

She died in a car accident in the passenger seat, never realizing her full potential. The sky got another star too early.
